Representative French Hill of Arkansas was born in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, on December 5, 1956. He graduated from Little Rock Catholic High School in 1975 and earned a B.S. from Vanderbilt University in 1979. Hill's professional experience includes roles as a banker and businessman, as well as serving on the staff of U.S. Senator John Tower and the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs from 1982 to 1984. He was deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Treasury from 1989 to 1991 and special assistant to President George H. W. Bush and Executive Secretary of the Economic Policy Council from 1991 to 1993. In 2008, he was a senior advisor to Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Elected as a Republican to the 114th and five succeeding Congresses, Hill has served as chair of the Committee on Financial Services during the 119th Congress.
